Alvean Lyons, Ph.D., is a nationally respected Speaker, Relationship Expert, and Leadership Consultant. She is the host of her brand-new relationship and leadership podcasts, “Messy and Fully Human” and “The WE Suite”, launching THIS MONTH! Alvean is a relationship expert for Virginia Public Radio’s award-winning call-in shows, ‘Another View,’ and W.H.O.V.’s ‘The Crew, formally known as “The Pastors Study”.

She is a renowned Leadership Advisor and Consultant to numerous Fortune 500 companies and government agencies. As C.E.O. of A.L. Inc., she has spearheaded a radical shift in partnering the public and private sector with multiple groundbreaking programs including The E.D.G.E. (Economic Development, Growth & Empowerment) Program for the City of Hampton, VA. As the founder and Executive Director of The E.D.G.E. Program, Alvean has created a trailblazing organization that equips marginalized women with the life skills necessary for self-sufficiency and life achievement. Through this program, she has been able to provide hope and executable plans for success that would otherwise not be possible. Alvean continues her community involvement as a member of the Board of Directors for the non-profit, Virginia Unity Project (V.U.P.), a violence prevention organization, as well as her commitment to economic development as a Board Member of the Peninsula Chamber of Commerce.

Before launching A.L. Inc., Alvean was a founding partner of TRACE Success Consulting, L.L.C. where she functioned as C.E.O. for over a decade. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Hampton University and a Master’s of Education in Counseling from The College of William & Mary. Alvean has conducted doctoral research in Advanced Studies in Human Behavior, holds a Doctorate in Christian Counseling, and a Ph.D. in Counseling Education & Supervision from Hampton University.
